Weekly Sunday post to motivate you for the upcoming week!
Excuse the cheesy picture but it gets the point across. We all remember those days where we first read this book and all we ever told people was ” I think I can”
There are only two weeks left of the semester. This is it. Either you are going to do well or you’re not and that’s what it boils down to.
Whether you think you can or not do it anyway. Try that extra credit assignment you never know how much that’ll help your grade if you don’t try. Spend one less hour studying and an extra hour studying. You’ll appreciate that when you are taking your exam.
We all go through things in life that we don’t like to discuss or deal with. That’s not the way to go about those types of situations. When it comes to losing a loved one that is when you should definitely reach out to someone. Losing someone is never easy and it’ll never become easy. We learn to deal with the fact that they are no longer there. That doesn’t mean you don’t care anymore, it means you are allowing yourself to move on with life. It means that you understand that you cannot do anything to change what happened. You can only accept the fact that it happened and help others who feel the same pain.
Don’t ignore the pain you have. Talk to someone. You don’t have to do it all at once, make it gradual if you have to. Just talk. The person that you’ve lost would except you do to whatever you could to stay and be positive no matter what has happened.
It gets hard but it is the way of life. We are born we live and we die.
This week I would like to motivate you to get help with anything that you need. It can range from you having ADHD all the way to depression and everything in between. If you are not helping yourself you are harming yourself.
Ok let’s be real. We all don’t wake up in the morning feeling like P.Diddy (Thank you Kesha) but we all wake up wanting to have a great day. Everything you do from the moment you wake up to the time you reach your destination has a lot to do with your fashion and eating habits. Weird right? I don’t think so. When waking up make sure you eat a nutritious breakfast. We have been here that since before time, but it’s true. If you eat some leftovers like pizza or burgers for breakfast you’ll be sluggish throughout the day. Try pre making your breakfast or eating fruits or cereal! One of my favorite breakfast items to make is a bagel with pepper jack cheese bacon and an egg. I got this idea from school. Every morning I ordered it and decided one day I’m going to save my three dollars and just make it. Of course you can put anything you would like on it. At school they give you the option of 5 different cheeses and 4 different meats and the option of a veggie bagel.
After you have filled your stomach with yummy breakfast its time to get dressed!
What you wear has the biggest effect on your day in my opinion. If you don’t dress for success you are dressing for failure. I know that’s a tough way to look at it but it’s the truth. Wearing your sweats to school or even your pajamas (yes unfortunately people do that) to school will likely result in you having a mediocre day. Actually planning or putting effort in to your outfit will allow you to feel really well about your day. Even wearing a cute workout outfit to school is better then sweats or pjs. Wearing workout clothes will put you in the mind state of being active .If you want to be the part you have to dress for it. My go to outfit in the mornings is usually a pair of dark jeans or leggings, a fitted white shirt if I do bur jeans or an oversized whit shirt for the leggings, a statement necklace and a pair of nude flats. Its simple and it doesn’t take a lot of effort for those lazy mornings.
Go to pintrest if you are stuck on healthy things to eat for breakfast or casual yet trendy school wear for some ideas!
This doesn’t have to only be for school , it can apply to working and etc!
Starting the day with one smart decision will result with a day of great decisions.
A few weeks ago I applied for an internship for collegefashionista and I didn’t get it. My boyfriend reminded me this weekend that instead of letting that get me down I continued to push through and apply for others. I didn’t want any other internship unless it was that one at the time. When you have your mind set on something you can’t see anything else.
After looking around and applying, I found more internships that suited what I want to do with life better then collegefashionista would overall.
Moral of the story: Never give up. Just because you didn’t get what you wanted doesn’t mean that God doesn’t have a better opportunity for you.
Tonight’s motivate me Sundays will be dedicated to inspirational books.
Inspirational books do the obvious, they inspires you. They inspire you to do anything that you want. They allow you to understand the things that you have been questioning. Can I do this? Why doesn’t this come easy to me? How long will it take?
These books answer those questions for you.
Of course you can do it, you just have to be willing to sacrifice things that might be getting in the way.
It doesn’t come easy because you are waiting for it to come to you.
You have to go after what you want.
It’s going to take you however long you decide to go after it.
This past week I have been reading a book called “Follow the Model” by Miss J. Alexander. To me this book is an inspirational life story. While reading it, it makes me feel that no matter what I will be able to conquer what I want when I want as long as I want it for myself.
Reading an inspirational book throughout the week makes things just a little less stressful.
So this week I am here to motivate you to find any type of inspirational book and devote a little bit of time every morning or every night to reading.
So I have decided to have a regular Sunday post called “Motivate Me Sundays” ! I figured why have the typical motivate me Mondays on Mondays instead of having them on Sunday? That way you will wake up with that drive to perform well!
For my first “Motivate Me Sunday” I will be discussing setting goals and how to keep up with them. These are the goals I made for myself this summer :
1.Read one book a month
2. Save Save Save !
3. Continue healthy eating
6. Launch my site
7. Continue my workouts
8. Re build my portfolio
I know I know , that seems like a lot to do in just two months or less but the day I lunched my site I realized that I achieved all of my goals.
Setting goals keeps you motivated to do things. Most goals come with a reward. Take for example goal number two, saving money. By saving money I will be able to have a little money saved away for a rainy day. I can splurge on that bag that I want or treat my friends and I to a little get away before the summer ends like a trip to Disney!
Keeping my goals was a little hard. Since I attend school full time, work and do other things it was hard to find time to read or workout. I found that setting a mini goal within a big goal helped alot! After a long day at work and school I had no desire to read my book all I wanted to do was sleep. I mean who doesn’t? Setting a goal of 10 – 15 pages a night allowed me to finish my book before the first month was even over.
With that being said I want to motivate all my readers to set some type of goal. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant but it definitely needs to be positive duh ! Big or small if the outcome of the goal brings you joy I think you should do it!
Don’t hit that snooze button when it comes to that early morning workout set your goal, come up with a mini goal and get results!
