EXAMS ARE UPON US
Today is my last day as the YFE intern. I am grateful for the people that I was able to connect with and the assignments I was able to do.
I’ve learned a lot from Jennifer when it comes to running a business and doing it properly. I accomplished my goals for this internship but there are so many more things that I could’ve done.
There is always room for improvement, and constructive criticism is your friend.
I check-in with Jennifer for the last time at 4pm today. I will miss my 4pm Tuesday meetings, and belonging to such a great organization. Thank you for everything that you have shown me Jennifer and the wonderful opportunity of working besides you!
This is your YFE intern Venita Aspen checking in for the last time. This isn’t goodbye; it’s hello to the new opportunities that await me.
Until Next Time …
My scheduled post are done for the week!
The first one will go live at 6pm on Sunday night

Make sure you are headed in the right direction, before you apply the gas.
Being busy does not always mean real work. The object of all work is production or accomplishment and to either of these ends there must be forethought, system, planning, intelligence, and honest purpose, as well as perspiration. Seeming to do is not doing.
To celebrate the weekend! Let the stress roll away. Take the time out to relax. You’ve worked hard this week and you deserve a break. And if you didn’t work hard, work even harder for that relaxation on Sunday because you will be working to get caught up right? For those of you who worked hard your break starts the moment you leave school, your job, or anything that is causing you a little bit of stress.
Even though whatever you are doing is causing you stress may it be good or bad. Remember, God or whomever you may believe in isn’t going to give you anything you can’t handle. That stress from school? You can handle it. And you’ll figure out how.
Until Next Time…
Tonight at 6p/9e you can find me and my boss lady live on yfe chat speaking with the owners of http://www.dobbinclothing.com/ !
Here is a little insider on what they do. ( taken from dobbinclothing.com)
We started Dobbin with a simple idea: a line of fashionable staples, tailored to fit and flatter, using the best Italian fabrics, and manufactured here in the USA. We also knew we wanted to keep prices under $200 without sacrificing quality, so we set out to sell exclusively online, where we could cut out the middle-man and pass the savings to our customers.
The two of us – Jessica Gold Newman and Catherine Doyle – met at Liz Lange Maternity in 2003, where we headed the company’s marketing and fashion design, respectively. We bonded quickly over our mutual love of art and literature, vintage fashion, and the city of Paris. We’ve been friends ever since.
After working at Liz Lange, Jess went on to run a consulting firm for young designers and retailers, and to launch and write a fashion business and history blog. Catherine headed to a major fashion retailer, where she developed a new store concept for them.
Still, we both felt the pull to start a new line from scratch, one that was all the things we wanted out of our own clothing – and what our friends, mothers, colleagues and relatives kept telling us they wanted, too.
Dobbin Fall ’13, is, in our eyes, our best season yet. Each piece feels fresh and exciting; we’ve continued to evolve our designs by adding new silhouettes and also refining past hits, have developed some vibrant new colors, and have continued to work with top fabric mills to source our luxurious fabrics.
Of course, we also remain dedicated to producing our entire collection in New York City’s Garment District; we’re ever thankful for the resources (pattern and sample makers, trim suppliers, cutting rooms and factories) that the neighborhood provides. We couldn’t do our job without them.
We’ve expanded our size range to include sizes 00-16, and spent countless hours thinking about how our garments look and feel, and working with our team to achieve the best fit possible.
We hope you love the line as much as we do, and like always, welcome your feedback and questions. We are committed to providing the best value and customer service we can.
Welcome to Fall ’13!
Jess and Catherine
