Earlier this year, there was a major push of sharing black businesses and giving them the recognition that they finally deserve. Before the holiday comes, I wanted to round up some “Black Owned Businesses” that are on my wishlists, in my eyes, + some of my personal favorites with you.

Semicolon Bookstore and Gallery is a Chicago-based, woman-owned bookstore that has a non-profit sector. Semicolon is dedicated to raising literacy rates in Chicago through providing free books to children in the Chicago Public School students.
Brandy Brown is an artist based in Seattle Washington known for her playfully refined aesthetic.

Thanks to her interest in the story of Nearest Green, his name is now on the bottle and his legacy as the formerly enslaved Black man who taught the Jack Daniel how to make whiskey is secured.
