Sephora Spring Sale Event Picks | Brown Girl Friendly

April 22, 2020

Every year, twice a year, Sephora has a sale for their Rogue, VIB, + General Beauty Insiders! I honestly think the Sephora points system is the only one worth signing up for because they give you something in return, A SALE ON PRODUCTS that would never go on sale if it wasn’t for them!

I tend to use this time to stock up on all of my favorite items or splurge on a new thing that I typically wouldn’t buy if it weren’t for the sale. Every tier receives a different discounted amount towards their total purchase. If you are a Rogue member, you’ll receive 20% off of your purchase from 4/17-5/1. VIB members will receive 15% off of their purchase from 4/21-4/29, and Beauty Insider members will receive 10% off from 4/23-4/27! You can sign up anytime to be a beauty insider, and once sign up, you are starting at the Beauty Insider tier, then you work your way up to Rogue. Every dollar spent is a point made!

Today, I’m going to try and only share the products that I feel like I can’t live without. I’ll be sure to do a follow-up post on the other items + thing that I’m excited to try 🙂

PRIMERS:

I follow the Jackie Aina method when it comes to prepping my face! She primes with an essence or primer water then uses a cream/lotion based primer then sets that with powder. I used to think that was a lot, and I tried it, and my life has forever changed from it! If you have oily skin, it is a GREAT way to gain control over the oily-ness. I only have to touch my face up once or twice. I use the Smashbox Primer Water, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer + the Laura Mercier Setting Powder in Medium Deep to achieve this look 🙂

FOUNDATIONS:

So I’m a gal that has a foundation for every occasion. I’ll be sharing 2/5 in this post. I use the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation stick for my day to day life. It’s a great everyday foundation that applies full coverage but has a VERY natural finish, which will help give you that fresh skin look! I wear the color Cool Walnut.

For my longer days, I tend to reach for the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation! The Teint Idole was one of my first big girl foundation purchases back when I started wearing makeup, and I haven’t put it down since. I wear the color 550 Suede C. I apply all of my foundations with a damp beauty blender!

BROWS

To know me is to know that I LIVE for a good brow moment. Eyebrows are my favorite part of the face after lashes and lips! I use two products for my eyebrows, the Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil to shape & fill in the shade Warm Black Brown + the Anastasia Brow Gel in Ebony. I use the brow gell to help create a more “real hair” look.

CONCEALER + UNDER EYE HIGHLIGHT

From Sephora, I only use two products to create a more natural undereye look, the Smashbox Studio Skin Flawless Concealer in the shade Dark Warm Olive + the Fenty Beauty ProFilt’r Retouch Setting Powder in Honey.

MASCARA + EYELINER

THIS IS MY FAVORITE PART. I love love love long, bold, and full eyelashes. I love mascaras that help me achieve this look even more, haha! There are a lot of mascaras that I can’t live without, but my number one right now is the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara! My other favorites are Marc Jacobs Major Volume, Bobbi Brown Eye Opening + YSL The Shock Mascara. As far as eyeliners go, I have only repurchased one over the last six months, and it’s the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon.

EYESHADOW BLUSH + CHEEK HIGHLIGHT

So I’m not much of an eyeshadow person anymore, but I think I’m slowly coming back. Jackie Ania released a palette with Anastasia Beverly Hills, and I just had to have it. She’s one of my favorite gurus, so I try and support where and when I can. Sephoras site is currently saying that they can’t ship that product to the US, but I’ve linked it here for you from another retailer!

When it comes to blushes, I love anything from NARS a favorite everyday blush for me is the Aroused mixed with Exhibit A! I use the NARS blush in the shade Savage as a highlighter.

LIPS

I purchase my lipstick + liner from just about anywhere, but I can’t write this out without mentioning my favorite red lipstick, LADY BALLS lol from TOO FACED. It is the most beautiful red lipstick I have ever worn.

That’s all for now, folks! I set my face with the powder + spray that I mention in the “prime time” portion of the post. I think that now would be a great time to purchases higher-end makeup tools that you may have had your eye on too!
