Last week I shared on Instagram that I may have found a new concoction that makes my curls POP! If you’re following me on IG then you know that I have been a Deva Curl Stan since last February when I started my Curly Girl Method (CMG) journey. Once I made the announcement that I was using their products to make my curls pop a few of you asked if I could share a more affordable version of products and I think I may have finally found some that work! (literally took me a full year to figure out!)

So there is one product from Deva Curl that I just couldn’t leave out and its the Deva Curl One Condition Decadence Conditioner. I haven’t been able to find anything that conditions my hair the way this product does! Here is what I use in order + steps!
Curly Girl Method
- Deva Curl One Condition – while in the shower I let this product sit in my hair for about 10 mins then I finger detangle my hair then rinse out the product. I DO NOT TOWEL DRY, I drip dry.
- Biosilk Silk Therapy – I apply one full squeeze of this all over my hair making sure that I focus on my ends.
- Taliah Waajid Curly Curl Cream – I apply about 2-3 index finger scoops of this product all over my hair, making sure that it is worked into my hair before applying our next product.
- Aunt Jackies Don’t Shrink Flaxseed Gel – last but not least something to hold these curls together. I only apply one index finger scoop all over the hair as a finisher.
Sometimes I skip step three, sometimes I don’t, it just depends on how I’m feeling that day. I don’t towel dry my hair because my favorite stylist at Deva Curl told me that my hair needs as much moister as I can give it and drip drying will help in that process. After I apply all of the products on wet hair, I wrap my hair in the towel to keep it out of my face while I get ready. My hair is still pretty damp once I take the towel down. I shake off any excess water, then its time to go!
I’ll have an IGTV video rolling out soon on this whole process. I just wanted to share this product break down first so when that time comes we can do it together 😉
